The Independent Election Commission has included some of high-ranking government employees in the primary candidate’s list, whose resignations have not been accepted by the President yet. This action of the commission is against the Election Law. In accordance with paragraph 1 of Art. 44 of the Election Law, high-ranking government employees, should resign prior to their nomination for the parliamentary and district council elections. As per the law, a government official’s resignation is not valid unless approved by the President.
